We celebrated Christingle at HETTY by making our very own Christingles to take home.

We found out that some Christians celebrate this festival by decorating an orange. The orange represents the world, the red ribbon shows how God loves the world by giving it a big hug! The four sticks are North, South, East and West and also the four seasons – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The sticks have sweets on them (our favourite bit!)  which represent all the good things that the earth produces. Christians believe that Jesus is the light of the world who shows them how to be kind and caring to others, the candle makes us think of this.

We were all very proud of our Christingles.
