Safeguarding at HETTY Preschool
At HETTY Preschool, the safety, welfare and wellbeing of every child are our highest priorities. We are committed to providing a safe, caring and nurturing environment in which children feel secure, respected and listened to.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All members of our team receive safeguarding training and understand how to recognise, record and respond to concerns about a child’s welfare.

If you have any concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing, please speak to Denise, Michelle or Chloe as soon as possible. Information will be treated sensitively, but concerns may need to be shared with the appropriate professionals to protect a child.

NSPCC – Keeping Children Safe

Talk PANTS with Pantosaurus
The NSPCC’s friendly dinosaur, Pantosaurus, helps parents, carers and early-years professionals have simple, age-appropriate conversations with children about keeping their bodies safe.
Talk PANTS helps children understand that:
- their body belongs to them
- they can say no if something makes them uncomfortable
- some secrets should always be shared with a trusted adult
- they should speak to a safe adult if they feel worried, frightened or upset

We value open and honest relationships with our families. Please speak to a member of our safeguarding team if you:
- are worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child
- would like advice or support
- notice a change in your child’s behaviour
- need help accessing family support services
- have questions about our safeguarding procedures
