Evidence Me
Evidence Me – Sharing Your Child’s Learning
At HETTY Preschool, we use Evidence Me to share selected observations and special moments from your child’s learning journey.
Evidence Me helps us build a stronger partnership between home and preschool. It allows parents and carers to see some of the experiences their child enjoys at HETTY and to contribute examples of learning and development from home.
Activating Your Parent Account
When your child joins HETTY, you should receive an Evidence Me activation link by email. Please follow the instructions in the email to activate your parent account and create a secure password.
Once activated, you can access Evidence Me by:
- downloading the Evidence Me Parent App; or
- signing in through the Evidence Me website.
If you cannot find your invitation:
- check your junk or spam folder
- search your emails for “Evidence Me”
- add noreply@evidence.me to your safe-senders list
- speak to your child’s Key Person or a member of the HETTY team so that we can check your registered email address and resend the invitation.
Please let us know if your email address changes so that you do not miss observations or important notifications.
What Parents Can See
When HETTY shares a new observation, you will normally receive an email notification containing a link. Selecting the link will take you to the observation in the app or online.
Depending on the content shared, an observation may include:
- photographs or videos;
- a description of what your child has been doing;
- examples of their interests, learning or achievements; and
- comments or information from their Key Person.
You can also add a comment or parent note to a shared observation. We welcome your responses, as they help us understand what your child says and does at home and how their learning connects across both environments.
Evidence Me provides a collection of meaningful moments rather than a record of everything your child does during their time at HETTY. Some observations may also be reviewed by staff before they are released to parents, so they may not appear immediately.
Sharing Learning from Home
Parents and carers can submit their own observations through the Evidence Me app or website. You can add a photograph, video and short note describing what your child has done.
You might share:
- a new skill or achievement
- something your child is particularly proud of
- a favourite activity or interest
- a family celebration, tradition or cultural experience
- a visit, day out or experience your child enjoyed
- progress with communication, independence, toileting or self-care
- cooking, gardening, drawing, counting or sharing a story
- physical activities such as swimming, cycling or climbing
- something your child has talked about repeatedly at home
You do not need to create a formal assessment or use educational language. A photograph and a few sentences explaining what happened, what your child said and whether they needed any help is extremely useful.
Parent submissions are sent securely to HETTY and may be reviewed by staff before being added to your child’s learning journey.
Keeping Information Safe
Your Evidence Me account is personal to you and should be protected with a secure password. Please do not share your login details with anyone else.
When submitting an observation from home:
- only upload appropriate content relating to your child
- avoid including photographs or videos of other children unless you have permission from their parent or carer
- do not include confidential information about another child or family
- check the content carefully before submitting it
Information shared through Evidence Me is handled in accordance with HETTY’s data-protection and privacy procedures.
Important Messages and Concerns
Evidence Me should not be used for urgent messages, reporting absences, medication instructions, safeguarding concerns or changes to collection arrangements.
Please speak directly to a member of staff or contact HETTY using the usual communication method if information requires an immediate response.
If you have a concern about your child’s learning, development or wellbeing, please speak to their Key Person. We will always make time for a conversation and will not rely solely on information shared through the app.
Need Help?
If you experience difficulties activating or using your account, please speak to your child’s Key Person or a member of the HETTY team.
You can also visit the official Evidence Me Parent Help page for guidance on viewing, commenting on and submitting observations.
By sharing information through Evidence Me and talking regularly with your child’s Key Person, we can celebrate achievements, understand your child’s interests and work together to support their continued learning and development.
