HETTY Preschool is located on the site of Hoole Church of England Primary School with whom we have great links.
Here is a document produced by the Early Years team at Hoole CE Primary School which talks about the type of things your child can expect to learn and experience both in their preschool year and then in Reception.
Hoole CE Primary School Booklet for Nursery and Reception
We are fortunate enough to share a good many of the facilities of Hoole Primary School which makes the transition from preschool to ‘big school’ natural and easier. A large number of our HETTY children will go on start in the Reception class at Hoole Primary, but we also have a good number of children that transition to St Werburgh’s and St Columba’s school, St Martin’s School and other local primary schools.
One of the wonderful links we have with Hoole CE Primary School is the use of Rocket room. This is a classroom within the school, next door to the Reception classrooms.
All of the children at HETTY Preschool who are due to start school in September are given the opportunity to go to Rocket room throughout the week with Mrs Chester and other members of the HETTY team. The children have great fun there, playing and learning in a different environment with a smaller number of children. Rocket room is a particular benefit to those children who will be transitioning to Hoole CE Primary School as not only will they will be able to see the Reception teachers and playground over the fence, but they will also be in the school building that they will start in a few months time.
Whether your child is due to start at Hoole CE Primary School or a different school, the experience of Rocket room has been proven to be a great aid to transition into the Reception year.
Here are some pictures of Rocket room so you to see the fun the children have there!
