Expressive arts and design

In general this area covers: Creating with materials, and being imaginative and expressive.

Some examples of this might include:

  • using paint, materials, music, dance, words, songs, stories and role-play to express their ideas and feelings.
  • becoming interested in the way that paint, materials, music, dance, words, songs, stories and role-play can be used to express ideas and feelings.
  • exploring and experimenting with colour, sound and textures.
  • construction and building using a variety of materials and tools.
  • explore different materials using their senses to investigate.
